We have lots of fun and flexible volunteer opportunities for our members.
The Northwestern Chapter of NARGS is a volunteer organization run by folks who share a passion for plants and gardens and enjoy the friendship and shared experience of plant lovers working together. We are always looking for new members and volunteers! Here are some of the things we do; if you'd like to help, please contact us!
volunteer: Help out at the BBG rock garden
Weeding parties take place at the Bellevue Botanical Garden (BBG) rock garden every Tuesday morning, 10:00 am to noon.
Planning for renovation of the BBG rock garden is underway. Major planting begins soon; the first planting day is Tuesday, October 18, 9:00 am. To participate, please contact Claire.
Remember that our volunteer hours demonstrate our chapter's support of the BBG rock garden as an active partner society. Please come with your favorite hand tools and garden work clothes, and help maintain the rock garden!
volunteer: Plant Sales
Plant sales are our biggest fundraising events and we need your support! Donating plants (seedlings or divisions) is a great way to help. Please tag your plants with their botanical name, and if you are not able to attend the sale itself, please give us as much as information as you can about them so that the volunteers can assist the shoppers.
We also need volunteers to pick up plants from members who can’t make the sale day, and to help unload plants, set up tables and displays, price plants, cashier, and answer customers’ questions. If you are interested in helping, please contact Pat.
volunteer: Open Your Garden
Opening your garden to our chapter members can be a fun and rewarding way to show off the results of all the hard work and creativity that you have put into your garden, and can serve to inspire your fellow garden enthusiasts. Any one of our members is welcome to host an open garden; please contact Barbara for more information.
